In my mother's rural studio in Savannah, Georgia, I grew up with the freedom to explore and create with a wonderful variety of materials. We looked at art in museums and beauty at home in nature. We listened, found beauty everywhere. My mother knew many other artists who kept a reverent sense of wonder, too. I am thankful for all of my teachers in life and in schools: Drew University (BA English), and the University of Georgia. (MFA, Printmaking), and the Penland School of Crafts (workshops whenever I can!)
I am thankful for my students, too. I teach Ceramics, Printmaking, Drawing and Design at USC-Beaufort and Armstrong State University and in workshops.
I make ceramic objects, prints, drawings, paintings and poems.
