Tiny tiles
Small wearable tiles are a new obsession. I'm making little drawings and embellishing some of my stamps with a tiny dot here and there and color. My favorites so far are the black and white drawings. So like little lithographs....
Raised in my mother's studio and my grandfather's workshop in rural Chatham County, Georgia, I had freedom to explore and create with a wonderful variety of materials. We looked at art in museums and beauty in nature. We listened. My mother knew many other artists who also kept a reverent sense of wonder. I am thankful for my teachers in life and in schools: Drew University (BA English), the University of Georgia. (MFA, Printmaking), the Penland School of Craft, and the University of South Carolina Beaufort where I am an Assistant Professor of Art teaching Ceramics, Printmaking, Drawing and Design.
