In the Studio
A lovely day spent moving things around, preparing tile molds, and taking a break to wire a majolica dress I made this summer with the tutelage of Posey Bacopoulos....

- Raised in my mother's studio and my grandfather's workshop in rural Chatham County, Georgia, I had freedom to explore and create with a wonderful variety of materials. We looked at art in museums and beauty in nature. We listened. My mother knew many other artists who also kept a reverent sense of wonder. I am thankful for my teachers in life and in schools: Drew University (BA English), the University of Georgia. (MFA, Printmaking), the Penland School of Craft, and the University of South Carolina Beaufort where I am an Assistant Professor of Art teaching Ceramics, Printmaking, Drawing and Design.
